KLUG Meeting Minutes and Agenda (#8) The eighth meeting of the Kingston Linux User Group was held Wed, June 2, 1999 at 7PM at Tir-Na-Nog. The meeting lasted until about 9:45 PM. (TCP/IP Network Basics - Building a Home Based Network - Mark Drummond) 11 - Wed, Sept 1 at RMC. (Kernel Compile Demo - Doug Mitton) 12 - Mon, Oct. 4 at RMC. (Installing Software - RPM, DEB, TAR, etc. - ????) (Note: We may swap the order of the 10 and 11 presentation subjects.) Summary Of Activities: - Web page host and domain name - klug.on.ca has been registered. - Internet presence - Temporary web page at http://signals.rmc.ca/klug. - Mailing list - klug-subscribe@lists.rmc.ca (send an _empty_ email.) - Install-fest - June 5th at Comtech. Agenda/Minutes: 1) Roll Call and Introductions - See attendees above. (Very unofficial this time.) 2) This Meeting: This meeting was intended to finalize any last minute details for the install fest and to socialize. We managed to accomplish that! It looks like there will be a minimum of 4 installs for Saturday. Any extra time can be spent setting up some demos and answering any questions. That out of the way we got into some general discussions of distribution problems and differences, a definition of clustering and the differences in the various topologies, and then Mark gave Mike S. a hand fixing up some Linux issues on his P75 laptop. 3) Next Meeting: - Linux Gaming; Mon.
